So I just finished the fifth week of five weeks of this creative arts day camp that I was going to. Throughout that time I was playing flute, doing improv, and writing short stories (remind me to post them later), but most importantly I was taking part in the camp musical. We put on two shows, one on Thursday and one on Friday, and then after the last show we all went out for ice cream and got generally hyperactive and also a little sad, because for many of us it would be the last time we would see each other, if someone was too old for camp or they wouldn't be returning next year. But we all had this thing that we had made together, and that would stick with us forever, so it wasn't so bad. ^^

The musical was called "Hamletta," and it was... Hamlet. It was set in the 70s-80s, featuring a rock band, but with all the motifs of Hamlet (uncle killing Hamlet[ta]'s father and marrying his/her mother, father coming back as a ghost to press Hamlet[ta] to avenge his murder by killing uncle, Hamlet[ta] feigning madness than becoming actually mad, everyone dying in the end, alas poor Yorick). But since it's a musical, in the end it all turns out okay and there's a cheery musical number that sticks in your head.

...Uh. So. Thursday's performance was great, but we outdid it on Friday-- for the most part, all lines were remembered, and it was generally agreed that the show was much more solid all around. And the cast party afterwards wasn't bad at all. =D ...No proclaiming my undying love for the guy I liked, but I got to hug him so it was all right.

And now for the kinda-sad-but-also-happy-bit: I'm going away. Not for ever, for two weeks at sleepaway camp. I did this last year too. But yeah, that's two weeks without me... and you know what else? After that, I'll return home for one night before leaving AGAIN, this time to California for a week and a half. So that's more than three weeks you won't see me. Please don't burn down the forum while I'm gone; I'll be having tons of fun where I'll be, going on a kayaking trip and hiking the Sierra Nevada. All in all, it's gonna be a very fulfilled summer for me. I'll miss you guys, and I hope you don't let this place die or anything, but I know you won't do that. ^^ So. See you!

I love acting. <3 I didn't get to try out for a play I wanted to try out for this summer though because we had a trip, which also got in the way of an acting Summer Camp I wanted to do.... yeah, bad timing for a trip, but at least it was fun. xD

Ooh, that sounds like so much fun! =D I love acting; if I had more time in my schedule I would join drama. Great job on the performances! That's so rewarding when you get to perform something you've worked hard on, and then it goes well. ^^
