I for one nickname almost every single Pokemon that I intend on using in battle at least once... because, well, it just gives it that personal touch. Do you guys nickname your pokemon as well? If so, what?

I get my nicknames from books, mostly. Especially the Wheel of Time. Which you should go read now.

Oh, and composers. My only regret is that I couldn't do Mendelssohn, because his name is 11 letters long... but yeah. Bach, Vivaldi, and Mendelssohn are ftw composers.

I thought I had more Pokemon than that... Guess not though.

Plese note that I used cheat codes for Arceus, Darkrai, and Shaymin. The nicknames I use are based on:

• (a)Type
• (b)Species

But for Palkia, I used the version name.

I used to nickname my Pokemon with random names of anime/manga characters I knew. XDD

But now, I don't really nickname them as much. And if it's a legendary, I keep its original name because it's unique~

The game feels too artificial if I don't use nicknames...some of my favourites from over the last eight years (with commentary =P):

I usually don't name monolegendaries 'cause their pkmn name is their name...so yeah, many ways I name pkmn. The newer ones tend to be either strange like SIMAS or WHISH or actual names like CHELSEA and SAM...but I still like FIRE BUG and RED WING anyways (mebe only because of the memories attached to it. I learned the candy code by losing a battle with FIRE BUG against a team of 100s)...

Illegible: Gold, Silver, & Crystal versions internal batteries eventually die, and the save file gets deleted, and you can no longer save. It happened to both my Gold versions.

I never nicknamed any Pokemon until I got Ruby version, so I'll just do my Ruby & Diamond version Pokemon (Current team for Diamond, and my 1st elite 4 for Ruby). As soon as I remember what I had in Red, Fire Red, and Gold, I'll edit:

Vaporeon -- Aqua (A Pokemon my friend migrated from my Fire Red version onto his game, and then traded to mine. I've always named my Vaporeon Aqua. Where do you think my name comes from? =P)

I nickname my pokemon when I'm bored- normally I make my pokemon earn a nickname. I'll give them one if they help me a lot in wi-fi battles.

Charizard (M) - Crono: Named him after the main character of the SNES/PSX RPG Chrono Trigger. Which also happens to be my favorite RPG.

Dragonair (M) - Draggy: Named after one of the 43 possible characters you can get in you party in the PSOne RPG Chrono Cross. Which also happens to by other favorite RPG XD

Mightyena (M) - B.Wolfang: I got this guy in a trade from a friend who happened to be able to trade between FR/LG & R/S/E before I got halfway through FR, and he nicknamed whatever I wanted it to be. I named him after one of the bosses from Megaman X6, Blizzard Wolfang. Yes, I know Might's not an Ice type, I just like the name, and Blizzard Wolfang's my favorite boss in Rockman X6 sooo...

Rapidash (F) - TheSkiver: Named after one of the bosses from Megaman X5

Scyther (M) - Serge: Named after the main character of Chrono Cross. His name is pronounced like the word "Surge"

Vaporeon (F) Aqua: My trump card in this game. Why else do you THINK I named her Aqua though? XD Yes yes I know, it was a stroke of genius
