I've never actually cosplayed before, but since I might be going to a comic book convention (my first) next week, I'm considering putting together an outfit.
I only want to cosplay people I could easily pull off:
- I have curly brown hair that's down to my general chest area, but I'm not opposed to wearing a wig
- Brown eyes
- Short
- Pale
- Female
- I wear glasses
I'm open to suggestions on who I should dress up as, but here's my dream outfits:
- Sweeney Todd (I have the shirt, pants, and boots already. I just need a vest and a couple other accessories.)
- Edward "Ed" Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist (I'm short and I have the gloves/pants/boots/possibly shirt already. I need the blazer and wig, but I'm worried that all the red blazers for females will either be too big, won't be the right style, or will be outrageously expensive.)
I'm curious to hear people's opinions on this.
You could be Melody or whatever her name is from Pokemon 2000, but I doubt many people would recognize her though. =/
I'd have more ideas normally, but I just brain farted and can't really remember anybody that looks remotely like what you say you look like. On the glasses thing, do you have contacts? They may be very useful if the character you're cosplaying doesn't wear glasses.

No, I don't wear contacts at this time but I'm sure I could learn to put them in if I was really dedicated to making the outfits more authentic-looking.
*looks for Melody on Bulbapedia* I remember her! Her dress and hair look pretty simple, but the only problem is, I can't play a flute/ocarina/whatever worth beans. :/
EDIT: Neil Gaiman's going to be at the 'con, so I figure a female character I could try out is his character Death. Some makeup and an ankh are all I'd need for the outfit (I already own a lot of black clothing), and my sister already agreed to lend me her dark grey eyeshadow if I did.
The ankh they probably still sell at Party City in the back. They have all these sections for different costumes all year long, and I remember them having ankh stuff in the "Goth" section. Perfect.
