Title: Okami For Teh Wii

Envoy Of The End - December 22, 2007 09:17 AM (GMT)
Okay, I was scrolling randomly through my newest Nintendo magazine. I went to the Coming Soon part. It's always good there.
I scanned the pages, until my eyes fell upon a white wolf. I knew I'd seen it before - that Okami game - the one on the playstation. I don't own the PS2 game because I don't even have the right console.

"Don't worry if you haven't heard of Okami before. We'll forgive you you. The fact is, Okami was one of the most impressive, most artistically beautiful games on the PS2. For some reason it sold extremely poorly over here (U.K.), but it seems Capcom loves us because it's close to finisihing a Wii version!
In Okami you control a wolf called Amaterasu, who can call upon the powers of the Celestial Brush (a magical paintbrush) to restore her cursed land to its former beauty. As you progress, you learn techniques that can help you on your quest. For example, if you paint a bridge (using the Wii remote), a bridge forms. If you've never played it, trust us on this one; Okami is proof that games can be art.
HOW'S IT SHAPING UP?
Okami sold in critically low numbers when it was released on the PS2, so you really have no excuse not to pick it up. This will be one of the greatest games you'll ever play."
Official Nintendo Magazine U.K.

So if you couldn't get it before, if you're a die-hard fan, you can get it soon, as mores Wiis will be in shops at Summer 2008 (when it's released).
Most of you would know. I'm just here for the ones who don't.

SJKDKJFGFNGFH.

OKAMI.

OKAMI.

omfg i love that game so much @n@ I've beaten it a million times and I still love it. I sincerely hope that I get a nintendo Wii for Christmas so that I am able to play it.

A while ago I've been hearing talk about how this game is coming out for the Wii. Most people said the rumors weren't true. But I actually agreed with some people that Okami would be horrible on the Wii, one of the reasons being that a sequel would only ruin the majesty of the first one. D:

but now I can't wait omg

Glad to see my confirmation made someone very happy. <3

That sounds like a very cool game. I don't have a Wii, but my friend does. The best part is, she'll be over-joyed: she loves wolves and she loves art. <33

asdfjkl; :DDDD I saw that in the recent Nintendo Power too, and was incredibly overjoyed. I can put my recently-acquired Wii to work! :DD Pity I'll have to wait until spring... ah well, at least I'll have Brawl to mess with until then.

Is Okami REALLY as good as I hear? C: How is the gameplay? What about the replay value?

YES ZEPHYR okami is wonderful. Most of the graphics are like one big japanese painting. It has some of the best visuals of any PS2 game. Although most people say it's easy, it's really long (over 30 hours from start to finish) o3o but that's a good thing because this game is lots of fun. Plus using the celestial brush is fun. Even though it would be easier to use it with the Wii, i adjusted to it fine with a PS2 controller.

Well anyways, in this game, you can run around restoring constellations and earning celestial brush powers, drive darkness away from the land of Nippon, AND you can feed animals as well. fun. and with the celestial brush you can restore bridges, paint the moon or the sun in the sky, and light things on fire :0

plus the character designs and the soundtrack are both amazing. so yeah this game is awesome. Although it didn't sell so well in the US. i don't really understand why D: maybe cellshaded games just aren't that popular.

Yeah, cel-shading is more or less looked down upon in the US unfortunately. A shame really. Which is why classics like Jet Set Radio never sold well (Tales of Symphonia sold really well, but that was only because it was an RPG for the gamecube, which like, never happened o_o)

When I heard about Capcom porting it to the Wii, I jumped just as much as when I heard they were remaking Bionic Commando. No, more then that. Just as much as I did when I found out NiGHTs was getting a sequel XD;
Okami was 'UH-mazing' (I use 'UH' for emphasis in amazing XD)

Bleh, now if only Capcom actually paid attention to their older series, like Darkstalkers, or Power Stone...
