Title: MC Experience Points
Shadow - December 15, 2007 04:40 PM (GMT)
So, guys, I was wondering. Should we make a guideline of some sort for how many experience points a Pokemon needs before it levels up, and how many a Pokemon, wild or trained, will give? I think this would make finishing battles much easier for the refs, and a lot less confusing and more consistant and such. ^^ What do you guys think?

I think that would help a lot but it'll be a terrible work for who has to do it: all the pokémon in every level? Practically impossible...

Well, I was thinking that each Pokemon would be the same; like every level 5 Pokemon needs 45 exp points to get to level 6 or something. And then the amount of experience earned from a Pokemon could vary depending on the battle's circumstances, but a general guideline could be set or something.

When I said each pokémon and each level I meant the exp. points each pokémon gives to you when you make it faint and you can't make a Weedle give the same exp. as a Lugia, even if they're the same level. It could work with percentages, though...

Ah, I see what you're saying now. Hmm, well maybe a set amount of experience points to level up, at least, and then the mods can just decide how many points a battle is worth. Then, at least there'd be no confusion as to when your Pokemon should level up. =D

Good idea! Perhaps you can base it on the base exp in the games somehow? =D

Yeah, that's what I was saying: a percentage based on the base exp. in the game. Empiric numbers are yours to decide.

Ehh I have no idea how we should do this, since I really don't pay attention to "base" points in the games or anything. XD
But you know, whatever works best for you is fine. ^^ I'll try to think of something, and maybe talk to Zephyr about it.
