Title: Beginning the Tale...
Description: ...Of a lifetime.

The boy walked hurriedly through the streets, head down, pace seeming relatively rushed, considering the town's setup. He was dressed all in black, but his skin was pale, his hair not dark either, causing quite a contrast. He seemed to be in a hurry to somewhere, but in reality, he had little idea as of where to travel next. Occasionally, he'd cough loudly into his sleeve, but other than this and the rythmic noise of his shoes against the pavement, he made not a lone sound as he continued onwards, avoiding many around him.

He looked up occasionally from the ground, noting his position. He thought a bit about his destination, and decided to find the Pokemon Center first. It would certainly contrast in this overall dark area, and not be too hard to locate. From there, he'd figure out his next plan of action, which certainly couldn't be too hard. He'd probably ask a bit about his alliance, too; He didn't know much at all about Nightstar, and he wanted to, since he was now a member of it. Apparently it was one of the smaller alliances, but what else?

His pale left hand, the site of a particularily large group of chicken pox scars, idly felt the one little red-and-white sphere at his belt. He was nervous about sending out his starter in the middle of town here; The Sneasel was irritable and aggressive, and might do serious damage with its long, scythe-like claws. Of course, once he was out on his own, near less people, it might be safe, but certainly not now. His pokemon would be a good battler by nature, and he was determined to train Dirk to let that show.

He sneezed violently into a black sleeve, then abruptly began walking with a more confident stride, eyes scanning. The red insignia of the pokemon center should be evident, and he watched carefully for its appearance. As a new trainer, he didn't want to become lost on his first day. He wanted to have a good start to what would, hopefully, be a successful journey to go on, instead of a disastrous failure. Then again, most of his life had gone badly so far. Why would this be any different? He sighed. He'd try his hardest to make this journey good, although, with his luck... He shook his head slowly, and continued searching the town.

As he searched the town, another boy emerged from a nearby house. The boy had dark brown hair that sat on his head in a pile of curls, and he held a shiny red Pokedex in one hand. Looking up, he spotted the boy searching for the Pokemon Center.

"Hey," he said. "Don't think I've seen you around here before. Are you new?" he asked, his tone brisk but not unfriendly.
