Title: Bootleg Pokemon games
Description: Finding Diamonds in the rough

Yes, the subtitle of this topic is indeed a play on words. It's a reference to my somewhat unhealthy obsession with Pokemon Diamond (bootleg) aka Telefang Power version. It isn't even a Pokemon game at all, but a monster-battling-and-collecting-game that is similar, but not the same.

But that's not the whole focus of the topic.

Truth is, people (pirates) desperate for a couple of bucks will take a known and popular franchise (Pokemon) and figure that if they make a game under the title "Pokemon" then it will sell. Which it does, usually. But when the recipients obtain it, they might either find that it is corrupt and unplayable or that it's fully playable but is stranger than they expected.

So. Has anyone here found one of these games on the black market, or located a ROM of one of 'em (even better!), or simply played the hack that the bootleg is based off of? (like Pokemon Naranja or Quartz) Share your experiences! Talk about possible bootlegs! Download Diamond/Jade!

Hmm. I remember some while ago there was a visualboy Pokemon Chaos Black or some such with hacked pokemon. But they were really stupid. :P

While on this strange topic, I could use a d/p rom+ds emulator in the absence of an actual DS. Most DS emulators fail at life, though. D:
