Title: Pokemon Farm
Description: What exactly is it?

Vee - October 10, 2007 06:41 PM (GMT)
Well, I ran into an announcement for this little Wii tidbit today:

Pokemon Farm

You can transfer Diamond and Pearl Pokemon onto it, and fool around with cute, low-res versions of your pokemon and Miis in a farm/ranch setting...

I'm curious. however, if this is the Wii's solution to Pokemon Box, if anyone remembers that.
I don't know how many of you guys have D/P or the Wii yet ( I only just managed to find ONE WII at a Gamestop nearby) but I'm really interested.

I've been wanting to start a new D/P game and raise another team with babies I've hatched, but I'd want to store a lot of my old ones, too. So a mass Pokemon storage "middleman" would be appreciated right about now.

If anyone else finds more info post it! :)

YES. :D A much better version of Pokemon Box, IMO, and very useful now with 486 of the lil' buggers. And oh god that is so cute. <3

Vee - October 11, 2007 11:13 PM (GMT)
Heh, I was gonna say... It IS cute, but I doubt it would attract very many if it didn't have an underlying purpose.

I can't wait for a release date on that... I think maybe I'll hatch some babies that I'll wanna use starting a new game. :3

On an almost unrelated note... The Rapidash... *dies laughing* It's adorable. X3

Hmm... I'm interested... what exactly was pokemon box for? And this is in 3D, so is it better? What exactly is the point of the game?

*Pokemon Box* wasn't a Pokemon game at all, but a storage device for Ruby/Sapphire, etc. I never got it, but apparently you can store a crap-load of Pokemon on it. It rewards storage with Pokemon eggs, which hatch into Pokemon with unusual moves.

If Pokemon Farm follows along the same lines, I guess it has a few quirks to make it slightly more entertaining, at least for a few days. :P From screenshots available, you can use Miis from the Wii to interact with the Pokemon stored in a little corral, take pictures and whatnot.

It's not really a game, or so I hear. It's a little something called "Wii Ware", kind of like the virtual console games you can buy with the points. By this logic, one could hope it'd be pretty inexpensive to get, but you never know.

I could be totally wrong, like usual though. ^^

IceMasterX - October 12, 2007 11:03 PM (GMT)
Oh, okay. Thanks for explaining. ^^

^^ No prob. I'd barely heard of it too - I don't think it was publicized much because it was really just kind of an add-on, and Pokemon's target audience usually doesn't need that kind of space.

Now a few of the people I've known over the years who breed for perfect natures, IVs and shinies... well, it's more of an asset to them.

Also, I think it might have been a special bundle with pre-orders of Colliseum, but don't take my word on that.

IceMasterX - October 13, 2007 12:12 PM (GMT)
I breed stuff for natures and then EV train the pokemon... but I dun do it for IVs. And anyway, when I get a pokemon I dun need, I usually release it, instead of having a box full of a poke like cubone... unless mai junkemon box is getting empty. I need junkemon to trade to people over wi-fi when they give me free stuff. xD

MawileGirl - October 13, 2007 06:36 PM (GMT)
Kool! I'm always wanted to take care of cute, cuddly Charizards that won't burn me to bits. (Hopefully.... x3 )

IceMasterX - October 14, 2007 01:32 AM (GMT)
Aww... *looked at pics* all the pokes look so huggable! xD

Vee - October 16, 2007 07:55 PM (GMT)
Ok, so it's definitely official. :D Pokemon Farm is, at heart, a storage device! One you can have cute fun with, at that.

I just recently used the Wii Shop thing for the first time this week since I got the Wifi adapter, so I think it'll appear in the store when it comes out, buyable with Wii points.

Save up, Wii owners. ;)

Oh wow! This sounds really neat! I've been wanting to start a new game, so getting this would be perfect to store all those Pokemon. They definately thought of an interesting and original way to store Pokemon. Plus, all of the Pokemon are so cute!

Well mabye it's just a hack!If pokemon.com doesen't have it on their site,then it's defently a fake.

Silver Vaporeon - November 6, 2007 08:44 PM (GMT)
I checked the other day.. pkmn.com dont have anything for it so it could be a fake

Zephyr - November 6, 2007 08:58 PM (GMT)
Well, that could be because it's only been announced. When it comes to announcing information in advance, Pokemon.com is never a good resource.

However, Serebii has. And there's no real reason that it shouldn't be real. o_o D/P needed a version of Pokemon Box, anyhow, especially with 493 o' the little buggers. Anyhow, it's Wii Ware, buyable with Wii Points. Why would it not be real?

Eon Storm - November 7, 2007 05:48 AM (GMT)
Aww! That looks so cute! I want it :D

Still,if its a fake then it could wreck your games[you would put your pokemon in the boxes].Although it would be handy since I migrate alot on my Pearl....but you should click here

Eon Storm - November 11, 2007 08:23 AM (GMT)
Pokémon.com? They like never update. -.-

Trust me it ain't the site to go to for the most recent news, Serebii.net is.

Avielus - November 14, 2007 01:13 AM (GMT)
If it was a fake, it probably wouldn't be listed on these more reputable sites... and if it shows up in the Wii shop (which would be convenient) then either there's been a MAJOR hacking of Nintendo's wiishop servers (not too likely) or it's legit.

Also, it stands to reason that this would come out, not that I have d/p myself. My brother does, and he just busted his DS really badly so I don't think I'll ever get a chance to try it without emulating and then I wouldn't be able to connect to the Wii now, would I? :(

Not to mention I wasted all my wiipoints on Sonic, Zelda, and Mario Kart... :P

editx1. I notice that I'm member no. 2309 and Eon is 2200 or so. He signed up a week before me, so where are all the new users? :P

*idea occurs before I hit submit* spambots much? Sorry, just answered my own question ^_^. don't mind me.

editx2. How does one go about getting a fake game anyways? I would want one just to show off... I remember some years back they sold a fake version of Diamond or something at the Pkmn Center in New York(on accident?). Who wouldn't flaunt their fake 1-of-a-kind Diamond? :P

I still woulden't buy it!

I doubt it's a fake . . .

Anyhow, this looks very, very cute. I don't have a Wii yet, but hopefully for Christmas . . . ^^ I have Diamond and a DS, and the only reason I haven't breed so much/restarted my game (with saving my Pokemon) is because I didn't have a game like Pokemon Box. This is cool, and very adorable. I'm definitely going to get it, sometimes. ^_^

You do not need to post the same message twice.

...

Do I make myself clear?

You're going around telling people not to buy a game because you're relying on an extremely limited inference and the lousiest reference website ever. I can say with certainty that nobody else believes you. So don't go repeating yourself, mmkay?

ebay. =P

Dude though, I just realised... If I'm member 2200 and there's only 170+ members... they DID get a lot of spambots, holy hell O____O

But still, why would something like this be fake anyway? That doesn't make any sense...

IceMasterX - November 17, 2007 02:02 PM (GMT)
Yup, they really got THAT many spam bots.
And it would be cool to have a fake pokemon game, even though I know that pokemon farm isn't fake. It would just give me more stuff to play! XD

Zephyr - November 17, 2007 03:02 PM (GMT)
You can find some fake Pokemon games as ROMs on the web. Most of them aren't really worth playing, but *shameless plug* you should totally play Pokemon Diamond/Jade, aka Telefang Power/Speed. They're awesome games. :D (They're not Pokemon at all except for the title screen, and they're whole games, too, with a long and absorbing plot. :3 Very fun.)

There are also many ROMhacks that have been made into game cartriges and sold in real life by bootleggers. You can find those on the internet, where they're actually more legal than buying the game in real life. ^_~

Oh, darn. We're getting off topic here. Howsabout I make us a new topic about bootleg games?
