Title: My, err, brother.
Description: I'm over it, but my parents aren't.

Well, I'd really like to talk about this with people. Some people know, others don't, and I need to just, you know, talk. And if anyone has a nasty comment about him, keep it to yourself and don't say anything. I'm never in the mood for it, no one is.

My brother is transgender, meaning that he was my sister. It's rather confusing and stuff, and I'll try to explain it as best I can. He's on testosterone shots and has been going through a huge change, though no surgery yet. He doesn't have the money. He's eighteen and lives at a home for people with problems, really, because he's got bad depression and stuff, like most people in my family. It was pretty easy for me to accept the change from sister to brother, and I'm really the only one in my family who has accepted it completely.

My parents are pretty much in denial, thinking it's a phase he's going through, but I doubt it. Changing genders is really a bit too drastic to be a phase, and he's really happy now. His grades are up, he's going to get an apartment, he's had a job for a year now, and he likes being a boy. He's been on testosterone for... A few months, maybe, and my dad is starting to get used to it, but my mom still can't accept that her daughter is now her son. And my stepmother is scared of him because he writes really depressing poetry.

So, I'd like to know what people think. If this is too contraversial or something, then by all means, delete it. If you don't like the idea of this or are disgusted, then don't comment. But to anyone that wants to say something nice, please do. I need a bit of support.

I don't feel mean against him at all. I'm glad that he's happy now, as a boy. It's his life, he should be able to do what he wants to do with it. I would never ever in my life say a mean thing about him, and I think anybody who would should be sent to hell. That would be just wrong and mean. I'm glad he's happy now. ^^

Whoa!...Your familys going through a lot. That's great that your brother's happy. You only have sooo long to live your life, so make the best out of it!

Wow, really? You all must be going through a lot. But even so, I think you should support him. ^^ He deserves to know that people are with him. Especially sense he's happy with the change, besides, it is his own life.

Aww! Thanks, guys! This means a lot.

Well, my brother just got an apartment, and he moved his stuff in a few days ago. I couldn't come and see it with my dad and little brother because I was so tired from swim camp.

He also has plans to go to art school. Which is awesome. Especially because he didn't want to go to college originally. That and he's just wicked good with charcoal. I'm so envious.

you're very welcome.

Tell him I said good luck. :P

Well, I must admit that I was kind of shocked when I read this. Not because I think it's sick or anything like that (I don't, I mean it.), but because, well, er...It's hard to explain. I guess I haven't heard much of transgenders and I'm not used to it, but... what am I talking about? =S

Well, as long as he's happy with it, it's good to hear. ^^ Just like other people said, it's his life, and he should be able to do what he wants do to with it. ^^

Fwee for art school! I'm an art fanatic, but I still need to learn how to shade properly... >< But I digress, I wish him the best of luck as well! =D

I don't understand why people make fun of stuff like that.. it's seriously not funny. I bet the load of people who do that don't even think of what it would be like that to be in your brother's position. D:

But anyways, hope your brother has the best of luck.. for whatever he's doing next. :3

That's fair enough. There's no reason to discriminate against him because he wanted to be a boy. Sure, some people might not like it and might choose not to start a relationship with him for that reason, but there's no reason why people should treat him unfairly and steer clear of him because he used to be a girl.

I don't pity you, Noodles. However, I do pity those that no longer want to be around him.
