Title: Amidst the Blue Skies
Description: Arrow's Journey

Arrow - June 2, 2007 05:35 PM (GMT)
Arrow disembarked his trusty blue/silver mountain bike and parked it in town. He was humming a gentle tune, which was incidentally his brother's favourite. He scanned the skies carefully, tracking the movements of the clouds and the type that were there. He plucked some nearby grass and let the wind blow it - to find the direction the winds were blowing. It was no substitute for a proper windspeed indicator, but he made due with whatever was nearby.

The skies called to him, and he swore he would fly again. Someday. For now though, he had his Taillow, Hirundo.

AZURE SQUADRON
16TH AIR DIVISION // 32ND TACTICAL FIGHTER SQUADRON

Hirundo was fidgeting. It seemed to be very impatient, and watching you staring at the sky, it flew above your head as if to catch all your attention.

Taaaiiillow!! it cried, moving in a circle.

Arrow - June 7, 2007 08:05 PM (GMT)
"Alright, come on, Hirundo." Arrow remarked. He waved gently, signaling the squadron forwards. Being new to the region, he had little knowledge about actual Pokemon battling and such, but he knew wings and tails like the back of his hand. The deeply forked tail and the short, stubby wings enabled for high-G turns, but they lacked the climbing power. Arrow silently compared it to a Supermarine Spitfire from WW2.

Arrow again scanned the skies while walking, peeping around at ground level to make sure he didn't crash into anything. XD

Several Flying-type Pokemon soared far overhead. Hirundo watched them wistfully, longing to fly as high as they were. Hirundo swerved a little in the air, gently banking to each side and eventually rolling in the wind. It gracefully pulled out of the roll, gently gliding once more.

A kid passing by stopped to watch your Taillow. He looked impressed.

Arrow - June 12, 2007 12:26 AM (GMT)
"Nice flying, Hirundo. My question is, can you pull a 35 degree incline whilst maintaining forward velocity of at least 35 knots?" Arrow said with a smirk. It was a simple manoeuvre, but everything had to be tested.

These thoughts of flying brought back memories of the Dicta Boelke, the oldest fighter manual ever written. It had 8 simple rules that someone would follow during air combat, at least during the first world war of Earth.

Arrow looked to the skies enviously. He wished he could fly again too. He used to be able to, but not anymore. He sighed as memories flooded back to him, about Skywind, about his older brothers...their mates...his superiors...

Well, what was in the past was in the past. There wasn't much to be done. All he could do is hope that this place is a new beginning and he will be able to ply the skies again in his new human form.

Hirundo tilted his head to one side. He landed on Arrow's shoulder, stretching his wings to their full extend. The sunlight shone on them, giving the black feathers a smooth, shiny appearance. "Taillow!" he shreed, flapping his wings from your shoulder. He straightened, his beak glittering in the sunshine.

The boy who stopped to watch your Taillow approached you. "That's a really cool Taillow," he said, envious. "Do you like flying?" he asked, the question directed to both Pokemon and trainer.

Arrow - June 25, 2007 09:01 PM (GMT)
"Flying?" Arrow chuckled. "I've flown for as long as I remember. I flew myself before as well, before..." he paused, memories flooding back to him. I just miss my brother," he sighed.

Shadow - July 2, 2007 04:07 PM (GMT)
The boy grinned. "Wow... that would be so cool to fly!" His expression fell as he saw the look on Arrow's face. He looked at the ground. "Oh... did something happen?" he questioned timidly.

Arrow - August 27, 2007 02:45 AM (GMT)
"Nothing much," Arrow replied. "Just thinking about stuff." He didn't really have the heart to tell anyone about his true nature...not yet anyway. The only one who really knew was Hirundo, and that was because he told him. The two would definitely have a lot to talk about, and the least of which are aerial tactics and things.

Whitefeather seemed small and quaint, different than what Arrow was used to. He was used to being able to ply the skies on a flying warship, with his brothers, his friends, and his mate at his side. Oh well...he supposed he would have to get used to life on the ground.
