As you win more battles and gain more experience, your Pokemon will gradually level up and evolve if they can. They will also gain more Hit Points (HP), or Health Points.
Experience Points
Each battle you win, the Pokemon who fought will gain experience points (exp). With each level-up, the Pokemon will need to gain more experience points to get to the next level. Depending on your effort and the strength your Pokemon expressed in battle, moderators will decide how many exp. it's fitting for you to receive.
Exprience points do not and probably should not go up evenly each time. Moderators will decide how many more experience points you should gain before the next level. It's up to you to keep track of how many experience points your Pokemon needs before leveling. It is optional to keep track of how much total exp. your Pokemon has.
Amount of exp. Pokemon give
Stronger, higher-leveled Pokemon will give more experience points than lower-leveled Pokemon. Wild Pokemon on the same level as a trainer's Pokemon will give lower exp. than what the trainer's Pokemon needs before the next level. Trainers' Pokemon give more experience than wild Pokemon.
Moderators should be fair about how much/how many exp. a Pokemon has or needs.
EvolvingA Pokemon needs to be on a certain, required level before evolving. Referring to an online PokeDex like
Serebii.net's would be useful for moderators.
How to BattleBasically, you will describe the actions your Pokemon takes, and the moderator will do it for the opposing Pokemon.
YOU CANNOT DECIDE ANY RESULTS - moderators will decide whether your attack fails or succeeds. The HP SystemEach Pokemon will not have a set number of HP, but rather a percent. If a Pokemon was in full health, for example, its HP would be at 100%. As damage is done, it'll slowly start decreasing, and the Pokemon will faint when its HP is at 0%. You might be wondering how this will work since all Pokemon, regardless of level would have the maximum of 100%, but damage will be dealt more or less depending on the levels of the two opposing Pokemon. For example, if a level 5 Pokemon was fighting a level 8 Pokemon, its attack might reduce the lv10's HP by 10%, but the lv10's attack might do 30% damage to the lv5.
Whenever a wild Pokemon is encountered, the moderator who introduces the wild Pokemon will state what level it is and other necessary info. (It's useful to include a sprite just so the player knows exactly what Pokemon it is, but that isn't required.)
The Damage SystemModerators should all be experienced enough to know how strong one attack is compared to another's. For example, Tackle would definitely not be nearly as strong as Hyper Beam. Also, if a certain type Pokemon used an attack of their type, such as an Electric Pokemon using an Electric attack, the damage would be greater than normal. Moderators will be trusted on how much percent damage they want attacks to do, and the players
including detailed descriptions of the attack will help this.
Refer to Serebii's
Attackdex if you have any questions about moves, but please don't pay too much attention on the power numbers.
Even if an attack's accuracy is 100% in the attackdex,
there is no guarantee it'll hit! This RPG is based on description and text roleplay, not technical game-style roleplay. :3
Players should not worry about counting damage - moderators will do that.
Healing PokemonA Pokemon's health can be healed by different kinds of Potions, and a Pokemon is automatically healed when you enter a new route/city if they have a PokeCenter (will be told in Description threads).
Since we have percents for the HP, a Potion would heal more or less depending on the level of the Pokemon it's healing. A normal Potion would obviously heal a low-leveled Pokemon more than it would for a high-leveled one. Likewise, a stronger Potion like a Hyper Potion would heal much more health for high-leveled Pokemon and completely heal a low-leveled one.
